WTF is this blog about!?
Forgot to grab a bargain on Black Friday? Don't sweat it, there's plenty of other ways you can save some dosh this festive period.
Here are my tops tips for having a banging Christmas without breaking the bank.
1. Cut the crap
It's so easy to get carried away buying seemingly cheap purchases that soon add up! We've all been in that awkward situation when you fill your basket with a few £2.99 tees in Primark only to be faced with a total of £80 when you reach the checkout! 😲
To avoid this - why not stop buying all that useless crap and instead just give your loved ones a single present that they actually want!? This will do them, your wallet and our landfills a favour!
2. Get crafty
Don't have enough money to buy presents this year? Why not get sentimental af and make something instead? Those in search of some crafty inspo are in luck, because Kirstie's Homemade Christmas starts this week (or as my dad likes to call it 'Kirstie's Homemade S*!tmas', but I think that's more of an insult to my crafting skills than the programme itself!)
3. Belated Christmas
You know when you buy your mum a gorgeous pair of PJs only to find they're 50% off on Boxing day!? Well why not avoid this gut-wrenching feeling by going on a family shopping trip on Boxing day and buying your gifts then? You'll save a fortune and it'll be quite nice spreading Christmas over two days because it's always over too quickly IMO!
4. Set a budget
It's easy to get carried away when gifting - I often go a bit OTT! So why not speak to family and friends and agree a budget in advance? This way you can avoid the temptation of going overboard on the gift giving as well as side-stepping the awkwardness of not knowing how much to spend on each other!
5. Secret Santa
Buying presents for your whole family or group of friends can be super spenny - so why not suggest a good old game of Secret Santa? It brings a bit of extra fun to Christmas as well as reducing the number of presents you need to find and buy.
There's tonnes of ways you can have a banging Christmas without breaking the bank but as well as the tips I mentioned above, make sure you check-out my fave ways of saving money when shopping online to bag yourself a bargain! And remember to get a head start next year by saving a little bit of money into a 'Christmas Fund' each month.
